BOA VIAGEM
Each place is unique for the visitor because no two looks are the same, no two days are the same, no one minute is the same as the previous one or the next. The scenes captured as they were, without any intervention, put all the importance on the instant, on the chance. The purity and honesty of that moment and that place where the subject is discovered with the possibilities offered by his environment.
This collection of images are the treasures found along the way: the faces, the textures, the details, a projected shadow or a ray of light that could go unnoticed or be observed for hours. It is about stopping to look and discovering, in each one of them, much more than what we see when we look at the world with our own eyes.
This project is about showing all the symbolic meaning behind the most everyday things, capturing the most common things and making them unique. Discovering to the viewer the secret beauty that is latent in the scene of everyday life.
The out-of-plane becomes as important as what is framed, because when it is not represented, it is the part of reality that we can imagine.
This tour is photographed with a documentary method but with the aim of showing a subjective view, so it is more of a diary than a social document. Cape Verde through my eyes is a unique journey for each viewer, because each scene is completed with with one's imagination. Boa Viagem.
From very early, I combined my own personal projects with my professional work. I have participated in several individual and collective exhibitions in galleries throughout Spain. I have collaborated with brands like Zara, Lacoste, The Kooples or Apostrophe.

entry description
This is a tour of the Cape Verde Islands through the everyday, the simple and the day-to-day in this African archipelago whose Creole-Portuguese-African cultural mix can be seen in every corner. Each place is unique for the visitor because no two looks are the same, no two days are the same, no one minute is the same as the previous one or the next. The scenes captured as they were, without any intervention, put all the importance on the instant, on the chance.
