The picture was taken in Busan, South Korea, in the summer of 2021. I captured this scene by the coast, where the Gwangan Bridge was illuminated with its colorful lights alongside the buildings, which, in combination, gave a cold, dystopian look to the picture. However, in the center, there is a penguin whose presence provides a comical twist to the picture. Amid the grand mood set by the buildings behind, the childish, friendly-looking penguin seems to represent a waif that is lost in the cold world.back to gallery
