In my work I like to convey mood and meaning through lighting. I enjoy shooting in the studio to make the subject the entire focus of the piece. Keryn has a degree in Ancient History and did her dissertation on Cleopatra, she also has an interest in Greek Mythology. With these elements in mind, I was inspired to try and hint at these facts in her portrait through the lighting. The aim was to make her look strong and powerful like an Egyptian Queen or Greek Goddess. Here I feel she’s projecting Artemis meets Aphrodite.about the photographer
Daniel Taylor lives in Edinburgh and works as an Archive Producer on television documentaries. He was inspired to pursue photography after working as a Production Assistant on magazine editorials and catalogue shoots in the summer of 2014. During that time, he observed some true greats of the medium at work, such as Colette De Barros, Tom Craig and Fred Meylan. His photographic work has been used in a range of publications from The Radio Times to Amateur Photographer and the BBC website. Daniel is a member of The Edinburgh Photographic Society.back to gallery
