A Shoulder To Lean On
This is the question that drives and shapes me as an equine photographer. I take my photos in a horse friendly environment, where the horse has almost more decision over the photo than I do - even with domesticated horses. Due to that, I can show the horse with its true emotions and movement.
I've grown up in the ruhr-area of Germany and been partly self-employed since 2016 - next to another job and my full-time university classes. "Hooofprints at heart" is something people would describe me as, since I've loved horses since I was a little girl. I guess, it wasn't "just a phase".

entry description
This photo was taken during the biggest and most popular horse corral in Iceland. A few hundred Icelandic horses are moved from the highlands into the stables for the winter. I love how this horse almost leans his head against the shoulder of the other one, maybe to find a moment of calmess inbetween hundreds of wildly running horses.about the photographer
How can we capture the grace and elegance of horses and giving them as much freedom of choice for their own ideas at the same time? This is the question that drives and shapes me as an equine photographer.
