entry description
Two Black-tailed Godwits fight each other in a territorial battle over an area of the beautiful Manglajodi wetland to gain the sole right over that place. Why do they fight? As they are seasonal migratory birds in this country and don’t breed here, the fight was obviously not for upholding their own breeding territories. Each of them were fighting to maintain its predominance over a feeding ground and trying to fend off the other who forages on the same food in the same area. Captured in a moment of engagement, both the Godwits were attacking each other with their long strong beak and legs. The moment in this image was captured on the wetlands of Mangalajodi, a small village situated in State of Odisha, India.about the photographer
