title
world beyond memory
The thought behind this work is that our society tends to standardize and prevent people from being free of all kinds of norms and cultures.
In my opinion, as long as people don't harm others in life, they should be free with all their heart and have the right to do so.
Through my work, I want to convey this belief, convinced that our mode is a perfect and complete existence and that we must find our true self throughout our lives. This drives me, and I want to give this energy on through my art.
I majored in photography at Seoul Institute of the Arts and in media arts at University of applied sciences in Bielefeld and at HfG ZKM Karlsruhe in Germany.
From 1998 to 2000, I taught photography at Handong University in the department of photography.
I returned to Germany again in 2001 and graduated from Aufbaustudium (MA) in Karlsruhe.
After graduating, I got married in 2002. I am raising two children, and now that they are growing up, my artistic life takes off again.

entry description
My work is a three-dimensional hologram on a background that is drawn directly on photo paper in a dark room with chemicals. It is working with the true character of the materials; not just using them to reproduce images, but to be an original image itself. The thought behind this work is that our society tends to standardize and prevent people from being free of all kinds of norms and cultures.
In my opinion, as long as people don't harm others in life, they should be free with all their heart and have the right to do so.
