Tokyo city ambiance...
Often seen as noisy, as soon as you visited it you understand its sweetness.
But it remains the largest city in the world with its typical ambiances.
I wanted to share some of them such as trains, neons, and architecture ...
Trains are of paramount importance in Japan for getting around and going to work.
Izakaya restaurants serve as places of relaxation for the Japanese ...
And the architecture of the city makes it easy and pragmatic like the Japanese are.
They are a signature of the city.
Subject: Tokyo
When: 2020~2021
My name is Nicolas Wauters, and I'm a landscapes photographer living in Japan.
Since I was a kid, I have always been attracted by new technologies, video games, computer software, photography and first of all by "Tokyo."
Thoses passions brought me to discover Japan, a country who fascinates me, for its "new technologies" as much as for its "ultra urban" side, but also for is culture and its traditions.
After several successive trips, in 2013, I packed up my suitcase and flew to the Japanese Capital to live my dream at 100%.
Later on, I decided to share my passion and knowledge for Tokyo and Japan through my photos and tours.
Through my pictures, I try to immortalize a Japan, most of the time removed from the crowd of its inhabitants. I'm trying to change the vision of a very noisy and populous country by taking pictures of very well-known places with fewer people possible.
Of course the permanent crowd is a big part of a city, especially in Tokyo that has no less than 40 million inhabitants. But trough my work; I wish to offer the quintessence of the capital and for this I constantly seek these privileged moments of privacy that I have in Tokyo.
I love photos of landscapes, urban landscapes, architecture and night streets.
