Ancestral Nunces
Powerful black and white photographs that reproduce unique moments in everyday life around Ecuador and the Andes. A mixture of happiness and lifestyle contrasts with the simple and easy way of living with little but good. Away from Europe and America, Japan or Dubai, this is an example of how people can still make a living.
I was born in 1969 in the city of Córdoba and in a difficult political and social period of the Argentine Republic. At that time we lived in a small tourist town called Carlos Paz, 30 km from the city, where I began my basic studies. At the age of 13, I was already living with my father in the city of Córdoba, without vocation or conviction, I was immersed in a technical high school. It was in those years that I discovered my taste for photography, although with the passage of time, this taste was not exploited, it remained hidden for a long time.
In 1990 I began to study graphic design and advertising, which opened doors for me, the possibility of discovering the creative way of working and learning about the use of typography, advertising ideas and marketing strategy. In 1992 I had the opportunity to travel to Germany and settle in Munich to start a new life there, with other initiatives, such as studying the German language, culture and way of life.
This influenced me a lot, although at that time I did not have many possibilities to work in the field of graphics and advertising, I was always interested in the image as a means of expression without text. In the period 1992-2001 I continued to develop photography as a passion, doing several theoretical apprenticeships that included developing in the darkroom.
In 2001 a trip back to Argentina for family reasons, led me to abandon photography for a while and I began to study web graphic design and the use of HTML and CSS design templates, subsequently achieving several sites for local clients in the city of Cordoba. Over the years I implemented my knowledge of advertising graphic design in the area of signage
