I had the opportunity to bring my flashes to a wave pool and shoot surfing at night for the first time in my life. It was a really epic experience with endless possibilities. I've also had the opportunity to shoot some incredible biking session. Biking is quite challenging because the guys can fly pretty far and high so it requires me to figure out how to light up fairly big areas and still find places to hide my flashes behind the features on the course.
And to finish it off I was able to shoot some motocross which brings things to a whole new level. The jumps are massive and it's a fun challenge to light up.
Since I’ve always been into sports it was a natural step to start shooting my friends doing sports. I quickly noticed that shooting during “the golden hour” led to shots I liked more. But then I started shooting sports like skateboarding and it’s very hard to talk skateboarders into walking up at 5am to get that good light. That was when I started studying artificial light.
Nowadays I travel with a pretty big amount of gear and place flashes where I probably shouldn’t be placing to get the shots you will see here.

entry description
This is a study of the possibilities of shooting high performance action sports with studio lights. I was lucky enough to work with some of the best athletes in the world what allowed me to try all my ideas. Every sport brings a different set of challenges and during this pandemic year with limited traveling that kept things very interesting for me.I had the opportunity to bring my flashes to a wave pool and shoot surfing at night for the first time in my life. about the photographer
My interest in photography began during a time I was also really into mountain biking. So I was mainly shooting the landscape of the places I got to go on my bike. Since biking is a sport that teaches you the importance of waking up early, I’ve also learnt to appreciate the beauty of that early morning light.Since I’ve always been into sports it was a natural step to start shooting my friends doing sports.
