The Other Side of Plastic
I thank you for your consideration.
Tony Bockheim
I believe it is vital for our species to realize that what we construct is impermanent. Nature reclaims our efforts. The process of decay often causes rot or undesirable views. However, close observation offers us a chance to witness nature at work. Capturing the beauty in Earth's reclamation is an enjoyable pursuit for me.
We also build barriers. Like many animals, humans desire to create ideal conditions for our lives and to cultivate our food. Nature invariably encroaches. Many of these barriers are transparent and warp our perception. Contemplating the view on the other side captivates me.

We build barriers. Like many animals, humans desire to create ideal conditions for our lives and cultivation of our food. Plastic is a popular choice for us. Nature invariably encroaches and as the plastic decays an imperfect filter is created. Contemplating the view on the other side is deserving of our attention.I thank you for your consideration.

about the photographer
I am Tony Bockheim and I have worked as an ESL teacher since earning my degrees from Brookhaven College and Texas Woman's University. There I studied music. Working creatively has been an undeniable force in me. Photography has usurped all other art forms in my life and now borders on obsession. The process of careful observation invigorates me. The medium offers a way to visually share my perception of the world and I feel lucky to be working with a camera. I am very interested in nature and its struggle to cohabitate with humanity. Another interest is the simple folly of mankind. We wage war, we build things that rarely last long, and we do not collectively seem to have the fortitude to sacrifice for the good of all. It is my sincere hope that we mature as a species soon.I believe it is vital for our species to realize that what we construct is impermanent. Nature reclaims our efforts.
