Faces of Yamal
On the Yamal Peninsula, several thousand reindeer herders roam, owning millions of reindeer. Some reindeer herders still lead a nomadic life, moving with herds along established routes - in summer to the north, and in winter to the south. The nomadic way of life has shaped many elements of traditional culture - a portable dwelling (chum), reindeer teams and sleds, clothing adapted to the ferocious climatic conditions. Reindeer herding camps are practically independent from the outside world and live on full self-sufficiency. People feed deer, and deer feed people.
The Nenets have been living in tents since ancient times, and many still live in them. For the Nenets, this is the only home, the center of all life. This home world and the surrounding tundra are inhabited by a whole pantheon of mythological creatures, sometimes benevolent and sometimes hostile to man.
The selection includes small and adult tundra reindeer herders, who fleetingly met on my way at the Day of the Reindeer Breeder in Salekhard.
She was born in November 1, 1988. In 2005 she entered the Russian Tourism and Service University deciding to learn graphic design. After ending the university she worked as the graphic and web designer. Also she started to take part in creative shootings as a model. She was inspired by the process and the photo industry, so decided to make captures by herself.
Since that time Natasha took part in numerous projects - сreative and fashion shootings, magazine's publications, exhibitions. Natasha’s first exhibition took place in Moscow gallery “Zdes na Taganke”
The main thing in her photography is to get a real emotion, that can be understandable for everyone. All of her subjects are about sensuality in each of us. It is the little stories about thoughts, senses and invisible miracles, on way to yourself.
