EYE TO EYE
I have always loved nature, but it wasn’t until I enrolled in the Charleston County Parks LowCountry Master Naturalist program that I began to truly appreciate and love the beautiful nuances of nature. The mindfulness and serenity I found through exploring every aspect of nature came at a difficult time. Nature became a spiritual place for me.
Along this journey, I began to truly love the mystery and beauty of birds. For a time, I took respite from being a pharmacist to work in the medical clinic at the Center for Birds of Prey. This only enriched my passion for these incredible creatures.
COVID came along and I was finding the need to create and be in the safest, most peaceful place I knew, nature. Thus, the birth of my wildlife photography. I hope that these photos bring you as much peace and joy as they do me.
My Vision
My goal is that my photography will bring the viewer closer to nature, to inspire, calm, and educate. I hope that my unique perspective of capturing wildlife in motion will bring the photos to life and place the viewer at the scene. all the while leaving the viewer with an urge to seek out this environment, enjoy and respect it. I plan to use my photography to partner with and support many local non profits who also support these ideals, and with our collaboration, I hope to reach new heights.

Anhinga breeding plumage is rare to see up close. I was lucky enough to follow the breeding of these anhingas at Huntington Beach State Park SC after several weekends of camping. Their nest was not far from the edge of the long alley along the marsh. I would bike over with my camera and track their progress. This shot was captured while the male and female were preparing their nests for the breeding process. Just look at the color in their eyes!about the photographer
Since I was a child crafting with my mom in her ceramic studio, I have loved the creative arts. While over the years, the mediums have changed from ceramics to mixed media and now photography, the arts have always been a place that brought me peace.I have always loved nature, but it wasn’t until I enrolled in the Charleston County Parks LowCountry Master Naturalist program that I began to truly appreciate and love the beautiful nuances of nature.
