title
Unrealistic expectations
Always drawned to high visual impact images and videos made out powerful and playful set design, he studied visual art and communication in Montreal, before establishing himself in Paris.
Driven by the desire to make images, he quickly deviated from his initial training in art direction and graphic design towards photography and video. His experiments have allowed him to acquire the basics and to develop his practice. Shortly after having graduated he decided to create his own studio and devote himself to the creation of photographic visuals. He and the studio create their decor according to the subjects and like various materials and techniques.
Initially specialized in still life with Reverbere, and has now enlarged the frame of his images with Twenty Fauve where he wants to embody its visuals with the presence of characters without losing sight of what makes his universe : an offbeat, pop, fresh and playful tone. Moving from craft to digital, Christian wants to keep strong connections between hand made sensitivity and today's technologically advanced tools. Passionate about experimentation, he likes to produce neat and clean visuals involving strong story tellings.

entry description
Exploring themes like unrealistic body expectations, hyper sexualization and woman objectification set by social medias such as instagram, the idea was to drag attention to feminism with fun and girly but yet subversive images that played with popular belief and stereotypes. Every image has a visual upsetting detail that echo to women perception. As a matter of fact, the rise of social medias has increased dysmorphia and sexualisation of the women bodies : for instance breast and especially nipples are censored because viewed as sexual attribute, and woman are retouching their bodies in unrealistic ways to fit a flawless impossible aesthetic.about the photographer
