In her eyes.
For the aesthetic and mood of this shoot, I had kept in mind the same rustic and embellished flavours of the Chor Bazaar streets. Each tiny element that decorated the frame, such as the colours of the outfits, pieces of jewelry, and the kohl in Neha’s eyes were all carefully chosen and put together to mirror the rich market. And thus, donned in silver ornaments teeming gleefully on her black and maroon attire, Neha, a renowned actress of the Indian film industry, carries with glory entire traditions and cultures in this one picture. A man in red turban enjoys his cigar right beside, as her piercing gaze approaches the camera lens boldly.
I admire this photograph because it introduces the viewer to the richness of the folk elements and the history they hold, right from the flamboyant turban that perfectly matches the stance of the man who wears it, to Neha’s very traditional bindi and wine-red stole.
In the world of creative photography, my photo stories have been lauded by an international audience, published by the likes of the United Nations, Nat Geo, Vogue, BuzzFeed, and HuffPost.
My love for photography extends to the genres of fashion, travel, street, and wedding photography. Herein my work has been recognised by renowned award programmes such as the International Photography Award (First place, IPA 2020), Monochrome Award, and IPOTY. My fashion collaborations feature like-minded personalities from the Indian film industry, including Shweta Tripathi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neha Sharma, Rashmika Mandanna, Simran, and Malavika Mohanan.
Furthermore, I am fascinated with smartphone photography, a skill I passionately pursue on my travels & occasionally during fashion shoots. Seattle based renowned smartphone lens manufacturer—Moment—has featured my Macro Series. The world-renowned Hamdan Bin Mohammed International Photography Award has honoured me as a worldwide finalist for my smartphone-only photograph.
Whereas in the capacity of a Director and Cinematographer, I have worked with an international team & filmed in countries like the USA, Scotland, & Canada. My work has been featured and awarded at prestigious international film festivals, like the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Cleveland Film Festival, and Seattle International Film Festival. ‘Scotch: A Golden Dream’, a documentary I led the principal cinematography for, streams on Prime Video and Hulu.

entry description
The golden hour was blooming in all its glory when Neha and I explored the bylanes of Chor Bazaar in the vibrant city of Mumbai, India. During the British rule, this place emerged as a market for stolen goods and in the present time, it is known for its eccentric collection of antique and vintage second-hand items rather than stolen ones. In fact, according to a popular legend, if you lose anything in Mumbai, it is likely that you will be able to buy it back from this bazaar. For the aesthetic and mood of this shoot, I had kept in mind the same rustic and embellished flavours of the Chor Bazaar streets.
