mum
Now, in my early twenties, I am trying to figure it out for myself and deconstructing the social obligations. Who do I want to be?
Mum is a great inspiration for courage and strength. I am still learning to stand up for myself like she does. She is fierce, wild and loving.
But, as I become more objective on the way I see her, as an individual, a human, and not just a mother (MY mother), I start to see breaches in her assurance. Vulnerabilities and weaknesses appear, I sens the way the world has weighed on her. The way men take so much space in her life. Sons, brothers, husband, father... Putting them first, and us second.
It is so very interesting to find that truth behind such a great effort to seem independant.
I wish that she had truly freed herself.
I wish I will.
She defines herself as a fashion photographer but is also very passionate about fine arts and documentary works. What we can find in all her works is a kind of absurd, fun and surrealistic point of view. She is always looking for an vibrant aesthetic that puts the subject in a extraordinary position.
