entry description
Pictures show the people of the village named La Salvia in Nicaragua - and their daily life. The village consists of approximately 50 families. There is no electricity and no water connection, only solar batteries and wells. The phone connection is very weak. The closest town is about 5 hours by bus. All men here are fishermen. Women help with processing fish (salting and smoking) and take care of the children and housework. There is also no mayor, no police, and no official social structure. But the commune lives and works without big troubles. People here don’t deny modern life, they visit the city, and stay connected with the “big world”, but at the same time, choose to keep their life as it is.All pictures taken on film.
