entry description
A jackfish storm is a storm-like scenario in which large numbers of fish gather into cylindrical clusters. Jackfish Storm's "Jack" comes from jackfish. Jack fish is the common name for the trevally family, and because trevally (especially the six-banded trevally in the treval family) likes this kind of swarm, it is called the herring storm. Fish storms are not unique to the trevally family, other fish also behave this way.back to gallery
