Bald Eagle Catching fish in Alaska

With nature and wildlife photography, I especially love to freeze nature in motion and capture details that the naked eye may miss. I dedicate a significant amount of time to studying the behavior of birds and animals in an attempt to predict flight and feeding patterns.
My focus with action shots is to help the viewer appreciate the animals' speed, agility, and beauty.
I have expanded my photography journey by leaning into landscape photography with the desire to preserve the perfect moment of light or share a unique composition.

entry description
It is estimated that over 3,000 Eagles migrate to Kachemak Bay off Homer, Alaska, each October – November. Utilizing a wide angel 24-70mm lens at 36mm, I pre-focused in manual mode while holding my camera close to the water. With trial and error, I was able to frame this eagle as it swooped down for a meal with the Chugach Mountains in the background.Nikon D5 / 24-70mm 2.8 lens @ 36mm / f/9.0 / 1/4000 / ISO 5000
