African Water Lily & Dragonfly: I captured this image in the Okavango Delta region of Botswana late one morning in May, 2023. I was just finishing a game drive and on my way back to camp when we drove over a wooden bridge spanning one of the delta’s channels. The water lilies and their reflections struck me as particularly beautiful, so I stopped the truck to capture a few. I didn’t realize until I returned to camp and looked at this image on my computer that I was lucky enough to also capture the dragonfly.about the photographer
Jim began exploring photography in 2007 as entertainment on weekends during long business trips to Europe and Asia. Jim ventured deeper into photography after retiring and continues to hone his craft on the local area's scenic vistas and through an active travel schedule. Jim’s priority is collecting images from around the world, intended to stir awareness and offer glimpses of elements in nature and distant cultures that are rapidly changing, and in some cases at risk of disappearing entirely.back to gallery
