entry description
In Central Oregon's high desert, a more than 10,000-year-old lake is drying up and at risk of vanishing. At times, water levels of Summer Lake are so low, it can often only be seen in the far distance showing up as a "silver lining" along the horizon. Dust storms and extreme temperatures batter this region making this place appear inhospitable to any first-time visitor.Under the surface though lies a hidden and colorful world with abstract shapes, textures and patterns that unfolds in front of the viewer who is willing to sit back and just observe.
about the photographer
I have had the opportunity to live in pristine New Zealand and now in Oregon with its abundance of diverse natural beauty. Photographing landscapes is my passion. It is an intimate process. Getting to know and understand an area takes time. For me, connecting with a place turns into a spiritual experience, exhilarating and humbling at the same time.My objective as a photographer is to draw the viewer into a mysterious world where something special takes place.
