WHISPERS OF THE FORGOTTEN
As a cancer specialist, I possessed an unquenchable curiosity for the human mind and the emotions it held. Fascinated by the complexities of mental health, I yearned to capture the essence of the forgotten souls who resided behind those iron bars.
Equipped with my trusted camera, I gained permission from the asylum's psychiatrist to document the lives of the patients. My intention was to showcase their stories through a photography portfolio that would serve as a tribute to their resilience and a catalyst for understanding and compassion.
In my quest to uncover the hidden truths of Pabna Mental Hospital, I encountered numerous individuals whose minds had been shattered by life's unforgiving blows. Each face I photographed, each story I documented, became a chapter in my evolving portfolio. Through the lens of my camera, I exposed the raw emotions that society often shunned or feared.
However, my work went beyond capturing despair and pain. I also sought to reveal the glimmers of hope and beauty that persisted amidst the chaos. I captured moments of connection between patients, where laughter echoed through the hallways, momentarily piercing the heavy air. I immortalized acts of kindness from the staff, who tirelessly cared for those forgotten by the world.
