entry description
Our cities are full of mountains. It is those mountains that arise from the open wounds of the city. Where cosmetic surgery takes place or diseases are treated. Every city is constantly in the process of reconstruction and optimization. Old buildings are removed, wastelands are built on, new, more beautiful and functional buildings are erected to promote the development of the city. Where this happens, temporary landscapes are created, called construction sites. They are the eyesores of the cityscape, carelessly passed by and accepted because of the need for urban renewal. The peculiar and unique landscapes that are created and disappear there are not perceived. These are also characterized by mountains of rubble, stone and sand. By placing these mountains in a different pictorial context, they are deprived of their real context and become accessible to a different kind of objecthood. They develop a presence that is otherwise nullified by reality. Only in this way do they become the object of close observation and thus challenge our perception.about the photographer
