Fishing nets
They were all taken at the Malamocco island in the Venetian lagoon. Fishermen in the lagoon are fighting with the environmental changes caused by the increasing sea levels because of climate change, and the open-close water ecosystem since the MOSE sea walls were built to protect Venice from flooding.
But what will happen to the lagoon in 50 or 100 years? Will Venice one day have to cut itself off from the waters that are its lifeblood? And what will happen to the fishermen?
