Mother Nature
These photographs were taken in the Canary Islands ( more specifficaly in Fuerteventura island ) in places selected to be both wild and beautiful.
My poses are meant to evoke embryo, birth, motherhood, the deep connection that binds us to mother nature. We shall remind that we are a tiny part of this vast and intricate ecosystem .
Through this series, I hope to pay tribute to the splendor and diversity of nature and to encourage us to reflect on our perception of it, and the level of respect we give it .
Protecting nature is not only an ethical imperative but also a practical necessity. To ensure a sustainable future for ourselves and future generations, we need to take action to reduce our impact on the environment .
Our relationship with nature is essential to our survival and well - being . We shall be acutely aware of the fragility of the natural world and the pressing need for us to protect it.
I decided to use drone for this series because drone provides a bird's-eye view of the terrain . This perspective can reveal patterns , shapes and features that are not visible from the ground, giving new ways to interpret and capture landscapes . Moreover , drone photography allows for photographing from a sufficient distance that the human in the photo appears small in comparison to the landscape surrounding them . Therefore , this technique was the most appropriate for me to create images in line with the message I wanted to convey.
I have always had an artistic inclination, but my passion for photography only developed when I turned 30, and since then, photography has held a very important place in my life.
Photography has a magical aspect to it because it allows complex emotions and feelings to be translated into images. It is also a universal language.Photography is, for me, both a mode of expression and an endless playground.
My photographic practice started with a Rolleiflex before turning to digital, which I now use almost exclusively (Fuji Xpro 3 and Canon 5Dmark II). For the past few months, I have also been practicing photography with a drone (DJI mini pro 3), which offers a new and original perspective and storytelling possibilities.
I like to venture off the beaten path, constantly trying out new techniques (Polaroid emulsion transfer, cyanotype...) and having fun mixing practices: embroidery, tearing, folding, etc.
Post-processing (photoshop) is an important step in my photographic creation.
My photographic references are very diverse, from Martin Parr to Richard Abedon, from Chema Madoz to Henri Cartier-Bresson, from Man Ray to Sally Mann, from Vivian Maier to Stephen Shore. Currently, I greatly admire the work of Yohanne Lamoulère and Kourtney Roy.
I currently live in Paris and travel as much as possible because diversity and openness to the world are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. I participate in exhibitions as often as possible, as it is the culmination of a photographer's work for me. I particularly enjoy taking care of the printing, presentation, and scenography.
I have two children whom I try to instill a love for creativity in, because I believe that without a creative outlet, we are not complete and not free.
