In The Net Of Debris
The junkyard for used rocket engines and defective satellites begins just 400 km high above our heads. With each launch of a rocket, new debris enters space and can increase the possibility of future collisions with expensive active satellites or defective objects, setting off a collision chain reaction. Our modern and high-tech lives are being threatened by the cloud of space debris that surrounds us. Thousands of small, bright, slow-moving points of light make their numerous rounds high above our heads, insidiously changing and rearranging the character of the night sky.
With photography and the use of long exposures, they form a huge web of light, a net of human legacies that contribute to people increasingly losing touch with what is sometimes our most important cultural asset, the sky.
For each photo there are information about the type of the visible object, for example it is a satellite or debris.

My work »In The Net Of Debris« documents the search for traces of the industrialization of space and draws attention to the environmental pollution caused by space infrastructure in the night sky.The junkyard for used rocket engines and defective satellites begins just 400 km high above our heads.
