Her Words
Her Words
Every loving witness to her, Craved the vaulted syllables in her heart Until those syllables screamed for her voice. So in the hum of their prayers and hers, that she would finally speak them She walked naked, She walked raw as the bud of a lotus And she stood at the blade edge of the world There, heaving quietly in the swell of her breath, Her words would no longer bear the shackles of her silence, And she would endure every wound, and grow every grace To speak – From A Shared Path, by Alana Helapitage
Both emerging entrepreneurs, Engberg and Helapitage yearn to build a career where their creations serve an ever-growing international community. Their art is designed to encourage compassion, self-awareness, and unconditional love— dissolving personal and cultural barriers to well-being. With this mission at the fore, they co-created the website, A Shared Path, in 2014. Her Words is definitive of A Shared Path, highlighting the vulnerability, grace, and strength of a woman realizing her voice in the world. So that she can embody who she is, a woman faces the challenge of taking a leap of faith—in herself. Engberg and Helapitage are committed to empowering and inspiring women; Her Words is a testament to that commitment.
A Shared Path is growing into a promising business. There, Helapitage embraces and promotes women’s voices, businesses, and lives through articles, poetry, and a variety of writing services. Engberg’s photographs advertise these services and the women who benefit from them.
