My hunger was hungrier.
"Melancholy… fear… drowned in milk… scary monsters… monastery cats… echoes of last night laughing…images with a sweet taste of milk and bitterness of inner doubt (wrapped in silk). Adrienne Ylva, not a child not a woman yet… this barely dressed nubile child is confusing us, her purity is dangerous (in one photo she ate the snowman:)). Then a minute later she laughs and cry and her tears become diamonds & sweets. Anja and Marija create a whole world for their heroine Adrienne Ylva… a world within a corrupted world which they purified with their tears (as in the medieval stories of princesses and knights), playing their games unaware of their sexuality and sipping their tragic beauty over us like two (heavenly) creatures fallen from grace. In their porcelain world, nothing is pure white, nothing is black, only few shades of (vanilla) grey… and silence… unspoken words… lost innocence… or sorrow for inevitable loss of innocence (like in the old Macedonian folk song). Masked as or in a manner of a fashion photography, the work of Anja & Marija is pure visual poetry… delicate as Adrienne Ylva herself. " by Mile Nichevski

entry description
"My hunger was hungrier" is part of the Childhood series, the childish state of Adrienne Ylva. Like a dark room with thin rays of light, every inner child has something buried within it, that is both sincere and gently disturbing.about the photographer
Adrienne Ylva is an ongoing project of two young photographers Cholkova Marija and Nikikj Anja. This project is some kind of a personal visual journal of how we see, absorb and reflect the world around and within us. It is called Adrienne Ylva after our alter ego that we created. Adrienne Ylva is one sentiment being, living in a gentle way in shades of grey, hearing her own silence... and these photos are her restored emotions."Melancholy… fear… drowned in milk… scary monsters… monastery cats… echoes of last night laughing…images with a sweet taste of milk and bitterness of inner doubt (wrapped in silk).
