On Being Young in a Town that's Old

entry description
During this long exposure of the Waimea Pier a group of teenagers walked, bicycled and lollygagged along the pier. One of them wedged his skateboard on railing and you can see it faintly in the shot. I wondered what it must be like to be young in a sleepy old town. Where does youth go when feelings of angst and boredom hit? I guess if you live in Waimea town on the western edge of Kauai, you hit the pier, climb up on its roof and watch the sunset with friends. Perhaps not so much different than their uncles and aunties, moms and dads.back to gallery
