This is a non-commission project. Just a project that I knew would challenge my photography skills. I've used Slow shutter, ND filter, light painting, and compositing to put it all together.
I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised by my encouraging and brave stay-at-home mother. She loved to watch a variety of Hong Kong TV series on VHS while I was growing up so I was exposed to different styles of visual creativity throughout my childhood.
Fast forward to adulthood, I was working as a researcher for the Medical College of Wisconsin, trying to develop a treatment for heroin addiction patients. One day during routine surgery on rodents, I asked if I could see myself doing this same thing in just ten years, and I couldn’t. After some soul searching, it became clear that now was the best time to start following my dreams. I just knew photography was my calling, so I quit my job and bought my first camera.
My goal is to be the photographer people go to when they have a creatively challenging project.

entry description
The Peterson Automotive Museum is located at one of the busiest intersection in Los Angeles on Fairfax and Wilshire. This was a personal challenging project to photograph because we wanted to use the Light Painting technique for an equal metallic sheen from all angles. The other challenge is the traffic from the motor vehicles and the pedestrian. We scouted this location three different times to determine traffic, lighting, and tested a few lighting gear to be able to light paint from a range of over 300 feet. This is a non-commission project. Just a project that I knew would challenge my photography skills. I've used Slow shutter, ND filter, light painting, and compositing to put it all together.
about the photographer
My name is Jun Tang and I am passionate about capturing moments in a photograph that tell a uniquely special story. From an early age I was influenced by the visual arts, but I didn’t realize my passion to be a photographic storyteller until a bit later in life.I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised by my encouraging and brave stay-at-home mother. She loved to watch a variety of Hong Kong TV series on VHS while I was growing up so I was exposed to different styles of visual creativity throughout my childhood.
