entry description
The discovery and control over fire was one of the most important chapters in human history. It is, in many ways, a feature linked to the concept of what it means to be human, as it detaches our species from the others we share planet Earth with. This image portraits this event artistically, placing a man climbing a boulder below which a fireplace has been lit. From the warm flames concealed behind a rock, strings of sparkles and fire spread all over, modifying and threatening the environment. The man climbs up from the fire, but the viewer isn't sure if he does so as an attempt to escape from the imminent danger or as an act of domination over nature. The consequences of such event echoed throughout eras.about the photographer
